This is very beautiful! I see what you mean about shooting when there is still some blue in the sky. I will try that next time. Thank you for your help with my forum question about Lights at night. :) :)

Stunning capture. The soft colours are just lovely contrasting nicely with the land silhouette and the twinkling lights on the bridge.

Hi Neil, right on both ideas...it lets me drop down 2 stops, and it might just be me, but I find that polarized light at nightime seems to be more vibrant and colors more saturated, espically in the sky and clouds. Might be really be true, but it seems that way to me,
Chris

Hi Chris, great night shot! Love the effect on the water from the long exposure. Just curious as to why you used a colour pol. filter? was this to allow you a 2 sec exposure or did you have another reason? What effect does it have on subdued/night light? Best wishes from me Neil

Funny Ingrid...I was just thinking about heading out to Jamestown for a morning shot someday from the opposite side of the bridge, as I was driving away from Goat Island tonight. I think the potential there could be greater, w/ the towers and lights of the bridge so much closer to land on that side than in Newport.
Regards, Chris

Perfect capture Chris. Everything came together for a great shot; lighting, tones and composition. This is a nice vantage point as well. Usually, I see the bridge taken from the other side with the rising sun. Congrats!
