It looks as if the light is coming from the side, so using a polarizing filter might have helped in this situation. It can diminsh haze and enhance colour saturation. I do not think the haze is very disturbing, though. I would not try to 'fix' anythinh in PS here. By the way, I like the image also as it is now, it is well composed and the colours are nice.

Hermen

A polarized filter usually helps. I find it's the best thing beside using Photoshop. I really love your composition, how you included alot of the sky. Also your colors are well saturated and you chose a perfect DOF. Keep up the good work.

Great photo Anna. To remove - or at least reduce - atmospheric haze you really need to use filters on the camera rather than fixes in the computer. A simple UV Skylight filter that screws on to the front of the lens will reduce haze to a degree. It also protects your lens from scratches, so it's a good buy for that reason alone. You'll get a more dramatic effect using a polarising filter, which has the added effect of saturating colour and adding emphasis to sky shots like this one. Photoshop can replace most filters, but it can't really duplicate either of these two. Having said all that, I don't think the haze detracts from the photo at all. Best Steve

This is wonderful Amna, I like how you included much of the sky! I think the haze looks fine in this image, but why do you think it is the lens that is causing the haze? Anyway, here's my attempt to get rid of it with PS, I applied a "solid color" adjustment layer with color set to full white and blending mode set to "soft light", and masked out the land from the effect. I also masked out the clouds in the top with a brush using a medium grey color. As for color temprature, you can shoot in raw and then use the utility that ships with your 300D to adjust the color temprature.

Pefect Comp. Amna and the clouds were very cooperating too. you mean by "haze" is the heat emitted from the earth, right? I agree with Judi, it's apart of the photo... avoid going out in thee noon time.... :) joking
Well done and Eid Mubarak

This is natural shot and wonderful image, am not familiar with Canon 3ooD, if you can play with the colour temperature then the secret definitely there but if you do not have it ,it is the same result you can get it from Adobe CS and I think you are more familiar than me, back to your image the contrast is there, foreground against sky, but if you think a small touch would?ve produced a better look, then see the attachment,, cleaned in photo cleaner version 2.2 and adjusted in Adobe CS.. Do not worry about the cropping this is my style. Saeed

Amna I feel the haze adds to the atmosphere of the image. Isolated and so far from civilisation. I don't know if this is what you were trying to portray, but if you were, then well done.

love the clouds and the colors.. I think I would crop just a little from the bottom between the frame and the people walking. As to the haze, it is only near the ground which probably means that is dust or something. I don't think it hurts the image and may even add something to the composition. Nice capture

Hi Amna, if only the people where walking on the elevated strip; having them "tower out" into the sky would've been absolutely fabulous.
Still, there's alot left in this image to make it beautiful; the tones, the composition making the sky the predominant element in this shot, but also the addition of the people, livening it up, and preventing the viewers eyes from wandering off... Very strong capture.
By the looks of it, the haze is either the dust above a town, or some polution in the sky. I don't think it's misplaced here either. You can correct this in photoshop, but that would include either replacing the sky by another one, or using a variety of masks and tweaking the tones. Difficult, but not impossible. Don't think it's worth the effort here, as the tones are quite good, and the haze fits in with the other tones in this image.
Cheers,
Hugo

Salam amna! i dont know about the haze wish i could help :( but i cant see it? what haze r u talking about? do u mean sharpness? the image itself is Excellent and the vertical framing works well here also the placement of the horizon -how u included the whole cloud and less than 1/4 of the image space is left for the land- makes it very powerful and different! Theres a feeling of openness and wide airy space and makes the dramatic sky the primary source of attention

Nice catch Amna, I like the combination of yellow and blue colors of the photo, wonderful. I like the way you composed the image with most of it made up of this beautiful sky and clouds, very intresting. I think the only way to avoid the haze is to decrease the apperature size as possible, so, icreasing the DOF and so improving the sharpness of your photos. Good work and composition Amna, regards, Khaled.
