Also I have this problem, but I solved it thanks to a friend photographer.
With fews "euro" solve the god problem negative.
I use only the film. And the scanning is a problem without professional scanner!
The photography you have in "attachement" is perfect. I think that lightly increasing the contrast and "curing" the levels the photography is as realty.
Unfortunately the equipment costs a lot of money it is necessary to arrive to a compromise at times!
I enclose a little modification, exclusively of the contrast. The colors are very real and are well so..

The scanner seems to be the problem. The photo is 8X6 inches, perfect focus. The scanner added some red shift as well. The original is more yellow/orange. When I shot the photo I tried to pick up the blue from the ocean contrasted with the reflected calmer river in the foreground. I played around with another in the series of shots I took. Let me know what you think. Any tips for using the scanner and post processing are welcome.!!
