hey excellent image from the san jaun outting. i sure didn't get anything as good as your photos. the cropping works both ways for me with or with out the sky depends on how intense you want the image to be.

Cropping the sky is an interesting idea... I find it completely changes the image in terms of where my eye wants to go... with the sky there my eye is led towards it, but without it my eye spends more time on the purple colour of the lavander.. :)

I had no idea that the temperate climate on San Juan would produce Lavender as Provence... but why not... if I can grow where the winter faces -25C
Only regret is the blur... when the lavander stalks can be simply beautiful... row by row...

Jennifer this is beautiful, the purple color is fantastic, might crop out the sky, other than that very well done~
