Every single image has something to say,no such meaningless,other wise why we bother to shoot,,If the person chooses to be journalism already has the bases to fit that sector ,regarding values it is a mankind ability which differs from person to person and along with his/her characters.Every single work we do should have a reason otherwise it is useless and waste of time,life never stop for us ,it continue as it should be some person ahead with it `cos they anticipate,some late and left behind as a ruins ,other co-op with it just for survive.Whre we are ? every single person should revise that.Saeed

If the person is dead already, I'll shoot for sure, it's part of journalism which makes it automatically part of the story and the job at hand.
BUT
if the person is in a comma, or a shock due to whatever happened to them i.e could be saved, I'll throw the cam away and try to save them or call for help.
There was a popular photograph taken of a starving african kid and what appeared to be in the background an eagel trying to prey on the kid. It won an international photography award, but if there was an award for stupidty..I would've granted the photographer that. Simply because he selfishly took the image, and LEFT (although if he knew better he could've saved the kid from starving to death). Months later, he committed sucicde because he couldn't bear the guilt.

heheh alyazia i'll take pictures first then i will call the police, when i did car accident my camera was in the car i started shooting pictures befor the police comes yes i was shaking but i do not know why i did it automaticly

It depends on "why do you want the picture for",, if it is to show the world for example how innocent people die in Iraq, i will take it... but if it was a dead body in a car accident,, my heart won't let me take such a shoot!! Great topic sis!

mmmm... i wonder if i would do the same...
i have doubt about it!! i guess i'll start taking photoz without thinking.. and when i'll realized what is going around me i'll call the authorties..
anyway.. i know it's a big issue... especially for photojournalists.. but it depand on ones priorities and values ;)

I would call the authorties, then take a few shots before they arrived, as a photographer you should try to shoot everything, pretty or ugly, happy or sad.....
