I see what you mean. I think maybe I tried doing to many changes as this does seem to get a little more effect to it and still has a clean topline. Thanks for the help and the opinions are always welcome.

I think what you've ended up with works rather well in its own terms, though I suppose it might be argued it now hasn't enough visual interest. Have you tried just cropping top and left? That is, leaving the vertical tree in? The strong vertical element in the original was quite appealing. PS It's not a question of better, just different! And it's just one guy's opinion! Let's hope you get some other comments, too.

Thanks Adrian. I cropped out the tree branch and the top and also cropped so that the pathway would come from the bottom right corner. Once I had done this, the tree on the left ran off the top and bottom of picture. So, this is what I came up with. Do you think this looks better? Thank you so much for taking the time to give me your comments.

Another nice shot, Stephen, but I reckon cropping out the branch at the top (and possibly some proportionate adjustment elsewhere) would be better. The thing is, the focus of the shot is really the path disappearing into the distance, with that interesting little bend in it; the top branch drags the eye away from that. It's a good shot, though, perfect exposure, nice colours, and a good general composition with a satisfying well placed mix of verticals, triangles and rounder shapes.
