Ryan thank you for the comments on my image. I really like this one but you could make it MUCH better by cropping off the white sky. Chris is right. It would have the further effect of emphasizing the lone band of pink sky. John B

Hi Ryan...a nice scene and good eye for framing this rock formation. The only problem I can see is w/ the highly burnt out sky...often a problem in exposures such as this, where a long exposure is just right for the foreground, but much too light for the sky.
What I will usually do is do three bracketed exposures, and combine them later in PS, so you can expose once for the foreground, once for the sky, and a third shot in between to make the transition look more natural.
