very beautiful photo. well deserved BIP!
I don't think it needs a sharp point. It works fine the way it is. The only thin that caught my eye a little is the skewed tower. It looks like it's leaning away from us. If you reshoot it (as you suggest in your comment) I'd try to get a more interesting sky.

g'day Shane, very nice image, wonderful colours and composition but would be much stronger if the foreground rocks and or the background was pin sharp so as to have maximum visual contrast with the moving/blurring water

Absolutely stunning. The colours of the sky, the movement of the water and the darkness, penetrated by the bright white foam all combine to create an image filled with mystery and intrigue. I really wish I had been there to take such a marvellous photo.

Very well done Shane! The overall mood of the photo is really outstanding! The misty foglike water is excellent and the sky is certainly ominous looking and beautifully spooky! The lighthouse is just in the right place and its little beam of light looks right at the viewer! The rocks in the foreground frame the scene perfectly! Overall a fantastic photograph! A well deserved BIP!! Congrats! Take care Shane! My very best...........JOHN

Very impressive image with plenty of feel. The long exposure has really made the image. A little more pink light on the lighthouse would have made it a 7/7 but the conditions obviously didn't allow this at the time! Worth a return trip and a RAW shoot.

I can say you have captured a truly wonderful photograph here; with incredible tone, fantastic colours and a truly emotive feel, but I would only be repeating the words of others.
I love this image, but not for those reasons. I love this because you put me there; When I look at this, I smell the salt, and I feel the wind on my skin, and I think no matter how good your technical photography is, it is pointless if you cannot take your audience my the have and show them what you see; it is this that makes a good photographer brilliant.
I will, nonetheless, agree with Hugo, a reasonably sized frame around this would send your success through the roof.
Well Done!
- Justin

Hi Shane, Very interesting to see what you did to the original posting. The tone is much more crisp, which brings out the green tone of the surf beautifully, but I do like the warmer tone in the sky of your first upload a tad more, though. Only a very minor thing, the shot itself remains awesome. Would've selected a wider frame, though; the image itself is quite ominous, which, IMO calls for a heavy frame. Good to see this one again, though; vey impressive seascape.
Cheers,
Hugo
