Margaret you are definitely not the odd one out at all. Every one has their own opinion and that is what makes us all so unique in the way that we look and believe in life.

Ooops.. I ment "Sturgis"
It's a little town here in South Dakota, One of our claims to fame. Sturgis hosts the worlds largest Harley Davison raley. Every summer in August. A little town of maybe 7 or 8 thousand gets taken over by literaly millions of bikers. Where I live is 300 miles from sturgis and during this time my towm will also be packed with HD's
Biker's from every continent atend...

Fadel. I saw that but there wasn't much I could do. I only had a few minutes to get what I wanted and my tripod was right up the top of the hill. Otherwise I would've played with the settings a little more. But I felt the foreground of the image made up for it in the long run.

Catagay. An artist's work is allways open to interpitation.
I Thought that song was about a rock stars life on the road, Wanted Dead or alive is a metaphore for the crazy fans at any Bon Jovi show and the "steel horse" is a boeing 747 ( If I remeber right it is depicted in the video )
But of course I could be all wrong, LOL

BTW Sue, I forgot to answer your question. We were overlooking the edge of a lake. The water is quite brown and the sky was quite bright, hence the focus on the foreground and not the background. They were very quick shots, so I didn't have much time to play with settings.

Ahh, but dear Sue. As you will read in my comment replies, I too don't necessarily prefer the Harley over all bikes. But, you know, I am so pleased that a lady commented especially about the love of bikes. I don't feel so alone now. I used to love taking the machines over jumps, even though those particular ones I was riding wasn't intended for jumps. I didn't care...I just needed to do it....LOL!!
So I can certainly relate to your song. Thankyou so much.

Okay, Judi, as much as I like this photo, I have to state that not all motorcyclists like Harleys. I for one would NEVER trade my Triumph Legend TT for any Harley.
Unless... I were being given the option to sell at an exorbitant price in order to buy another Triumph Legend and pocket the difference.
btw; what is the somewhat blown out area above the bike? Is that water or a road?
And here's another song: "I don't want a pickle Just wanna ride my motorcycle
An' I don't want a tickle Cuz I wanna ride my motorcycle
An' I don't wanna die I just wanna ride my motorcy - cle.
Arlo Guthrie - The Motorcycle Song (The Significance of the Pickle)

Dear Judi, I remember the song:)
It's all the same, only the names will change Everyday it seems we're wasting away Another place where the faces are so cold I'd drive all night just to get back home MOSTLY THIS PART! ---------------------------------------- [Chorus:] I'm a cowboy, on a steel horse I ride I'm wanted dead or alive Wanted dead or alive ---------------------------------------- Sometimes I sleep, sometimes it's not for days And the people I meet always go their separate ways Sometimes you tell the day By the bottle that you drink And times when you're all alone all you do is think
[Chorus]
I walk these streets, a loaded six string on my back I play for keeps, 'cause I might not make it back I been everywhere, still I'm standing tall I've seen a million faces an I've rocked them all
I'm a cowboy, on a steel horse I ride I'm wanted dead or alive I'm a cowboy, I got the night on my side I'm wanted dead or alive Wanted dead or alive
