About Taken New Years Eve 2004/2005, Hand held with the supposedly cheap and nasty Nikon 70-300G @300mm. I think it performs OK at full stretch, especially as it only cost me $100

The moon was low on the horizon so looked big and quite yellow.
The image was shot wiith a D70 so it gives an effective FOV of a 450mm lens when ompared to a 35mm film camera and I also cropped the image from the original raw file

Could you please tell me or explain me how did you get so close to the moon with the nikon 300mm? Because I've tried but I just cant get so close as your picture.
Appreciated.

Very beautiful! And very impressive for a handheld shot.

Awesome moon shot. I just bought that lens for my D70. Im glad I made a smart buy ;) .
I wanted to take some moon shots tonight but the moon was very hazy where I live.

I assure you that it was hand held. I did brace my arm against a wall though. 1/640 sec assisted in keeping the image sharp

I actually rotated the image about 45 deg anticlockwise cause I though that it provided better composition

Looks pretty perfect...nearly impossible for hand-held.
