Hey Ana! sounds like we're on a very simillar level, music-wise. The beautiful thing on Manhattan is ,that a lot of bands and artists live around here and are willing to perform also in small clubs maybe for old times sake. When you browse my onstage portfolio, you'll see what I mean.
And well, Nick is awesome, I agree!!!

Yes, Ana! the band. Great concert, BTW and in a "hall" as big as an average living room. That's how I like concerts!!!

good to see it digitally here, creates an intimate mood and places the guitarman just in front of me (only one arm length away).

A great concert image with a suggestive black background and a intensive feeling of the guitar player. Very well composed and nicely shot without any kind of flash ;)

Hey Jim! My formula is fresh film, a good lab and a perfect exposure. The light metering is the key IMHO to get a pleasing grain.

Hey Mark! Yes I know them. Marshall is the man for the presisive moment. I don't have a book from him, but I know a lot of his work. I saw picture from him which just blew my socks off. And Corbijn shows a creativity which surprises me all the time. Santa brought me "Famouz Photographs 1975-88"; fantastic book, highly recommended. Thanks for the information and also for the nice feedback. Very much appreciated!

Great work. Your concert shots have a very 60's feel to them. Are you into Jim Marshall? He has a few books out. He got so sick of "access denied" when music went coorporate that he just quit. Works out of San Francisco. The book I have is called "Not Fade Away" (don't know if it's still in print). Also like Anton Corbijn alot (does most of U2's photography) You into him? Keep up the good work. Take care, Mark PS No flash indeed !!

Hi C. Like the stage props and equipment filling the scene. I also dig the no flash philosophy, works well. Best wishes for '05,

Cheers,

Hugo

Carlheinz, Great shot!!!!!
Always love your black and white work
Delta 3200 in 35mm, how do you keep the grain down?? whenever I shoot high speed film, the grain is just too much!!
