Well, I should point out the ocean to the lower left was moving quickly so there is a bit of blur that is really part of film speed than lens. But the dark edges are common for German lenses... at least in my experience. Hasselblads also produce those nice edges... but again, soft is not accurate, that was caused by film speed and movement.
