Great shot, Kess! I love pictures taken directly into the sun like this - such impact! The backlit flowering reeds are wonderful (maybe you could dodge them a little to bring them out even more?) The lens flare works to your advantage in this, and I like the way it's even formed a little rainbow 'halo' around the sun.

thanks for the comment! sorry to say though that it wasn't taken in charlottesville...i'm from ct & ny and it was actually taken in rye, ny. however i'll be sure to let you know if i ever seen any water like this near charlottesville! Kessia

Hey.....I never see any body of water around Charlottesville?!? Email me and tell me where it is, so I can check it out! This is an awesome shot, Kessia... The lighting is outstanding, with the sun setting not too brightly, and the forground still illuminated enough to catch the wonderful details. The backlighting on the tall grass is excellent, and the overall composition is really, really good!
