About To get as much as possible FOV, stacked two landscape format shots with PanoTools vertically. Shot handheld, with lens hood. Because of extreme dynamic range exposure bracketing from 1/800 f:8 to 1/3200 f:8 @ 10 mm, that is 16 mm film equivalent. For the upper image I converted 8 TIFFs and blended them together with PS (radial gradient masks), for the lower part image I used 4 TIFFs, at last I added a slight soft light gradient to the snow to enhance the effect of flowing light. B&W tritone with PS.

Outstanding images. You are really good at PS! I've played with the program some to create some neat effects, but nothing like this. This is by all means professionally done! Superb photography!

Best wishes,
Mike

Darn it, sometimes I comment so bluntly -- sometimes I know what I'm talking about, sometimes I don't! And I don't know much about digital photography. Your pictures have a lot of flair, I'll keep dropping in to look. The thing is to enjoy making pictures and to feel that one is improving. Glad to make your acquaintance. Rgds, Svend

Thank you, Svend, for your insightful comment. You are right, it is a computerized image and not to compare with untouched film. I had a look into your portfolio - really excellent photos, tonal quality of Hassy with film is unsurpassed for sure. Your painting with light work is great, will have to look in detail. I can empathize with you, because in my youth I had a wet darkroom, course of studies and job-related moving held me off and my photographic revival was digital, with a long PS learning curve, far from being professional of course.

You've done good computer "stitching" work but the result is a computerized picture and looks like one due to all the subtle differences in light between the various constituent pictures. "Sunset after a Thunderstorm" succeeds less well than this one.
You're trying to achieve photorealism using multiple images, which is extremely difficult to achieve, requiring computer skills of the highest order. I know of only a couple digital photographers in the world who are able to do it and that just barely. As an exercise, why not -- it's fun. I enjoy your pictures. Rgds, Svend

Although it is a very dramatic look the sky and ground really don't work together for me. I know you did this on purpose. It is just my taste.
