About From my 1985 files-Mr. Vinson. One of the very last small grocer owners in Ga. He lived and worked in Oglethorpe County, Ga until his health forced him to retire. His death was in early 1990's. He loved to be photographed and told me that many, many photographers had visited him. Some photojournalist. I will always remember the day that I met with MR VINSON.

A fine B&W portrait with great visual context. Very sharp considering the long exposure. Thanks for your kind comment on my commuter shot. Long may you continue to exercise your obvious skills!

Melissa, your comments are so true. It appears that I am at the end of my career because of heart failure. But, I had a wonderful time meeting people like Mr. Vinson. Thanks again.

I think there is a frame of mind that accompanies this image. It speaks of the nostalgia of a time past. When people greeted one another by sirname, and said things like "How do you do?" The contrast is perfect, and Mr Vinson is priceless in his small town good-guy role. Thank you for sharing this image. It brought back whistful memories of forgotten days.
Kind Regards,
Melissa

Lovely scene! Right choice to use BW film on this 'old' scenery....
