Actually the horizon was straight on the slide - I was trying to give the impression of wild movement using the tilt and the radial blur (both types). The colour was just natural and I didn't see any specific reason to change it, The contrast covers the full range on the histogram - I could have made it snappier (as I did on another one http://www.usefilm.com/image/584349.html taken at the same time, but it would have lost some of the texture produced by the filters - admittedly not so visible on the small compressed version posted compared with the hi-res print.
Thanks for your thoughts - I think it's interesting and helpful to discuss the decisions made in composing the pictures - that's what the forum is all about.
Best wishes, Jonathan

Hmmm---- a wonky horizon, poor contrast and colour, easily made better in photoshop,--- radial blurr? But I like the shadow.

Amy really hits the nail on the head as far as what I wanted to say. And that light is just beautiful. A great day it was.

Like it, Jonathan! The radial blur is effective. I can't decide if the sliding ocean is a good thing, or not... it adds to the sense of movement but offends reality at the same time. Amy
