Here is a series of shots from a few years back during my first couple of years in school at UW Milwaukee. What do you get when a bunch of cynical stoned kids decide to stand up against all that is wring with something.... maybe this, maybe not. Well all in all some markers, a few sticks and pizza boxes and here is what you get, somewhere there is a 16mm film of our exploits too, where ever James is. This scene is on Brady Street. I miss these guys.
Thats about a mile north of downtown Milwaukee. Brady Street is pretty safe until the wee hour of night and even then... if you have yor wits about you, it's fine, just northwest of there however is anothe story. If you've never been there it is worth a visit if you have business there. Milwaukee is a great city, I did my first two years of undergrad there, and I will be going there in a week, I will have a ton of new photos if I plan things right.
It makes me want to join them. Not quite sure what it is they're protesting...don't know. But like they're having a good time as a group, that's a good feeling. It reminds me a lot of my teenage years, of belonging. I like the layout of the this town. It's so unlike L.A. or O.C. where it's often not safe to go out walking. All in all, I think it's a very good street shot.
Awesome! I think about the apathy of today's youth and I empathize, there is so much to hate in the world, and so many people telling us things. The pressure can be overwhelming. This capture has it all. Nicely done.
