Hi Teunis,
I've been trying to figure this out, not having seen anything like this before. At first it looked like these were hanging from those tree trunks in the distance, but FINALLY I realized that it's really hanging from a branch up close to the lense...I was thinking that the fruits were 'MASSIVE' things, but really aren't. (I'm sure I didn't explain this very well) LOL
ANYWAY, great image!! Lori ;)

Nice shot of a very different fruit, Teunis! I like your DOF, keeping the whole environment in focus, a little different way of viewing a macro. Dave.

Very nice photo of the cashew fruit, Teunis - something many people have never seen! We has these when I was growing up in Guatemala - I remember that the fruit smells bad, but tastes good! I think the nut has to be roasted before eating or it is toxic!

Nice shot of an unusual fruit. Did you get a close up too? In Goa, India (an ex-Portuguese colony) the juice from the "fruit" is fermented and distilled into "feni", a cashew flavored liquor. Fantastic!

Hi Teunis; how are you enjoying Brazil?-- bet there are few windmills there;>)
This is a really cool photo of a fruit I've never seen or heard of before. It looks like a person could eat on that thing for several weeks?
A really nice shot along with other tropical vegetation. You must be a Botanist. Cheers. Craig
