Self-portrait, on the Great Wall of China. Photo taken by my official guide. This is a very unusual photo of me; I do not believe that any other photo of me exists wearing a coat. I do possess one (as seen here), but probably only wear it once or twice a year, ever. But here, despite the evident sun, it was minus 15 degrees... So I'm even wearing a scarf.
Not far away from this spot stands a sign, in Chinese, which I am told says that only when a man has visited and climbed the wall is he a man (excuse the sexism). OK, now I'm a man.
