Thanks for the comment and ID to this flower. I've updated the title. I did the frame like this because I was having trouble with all the different colors of the background. When I tried to darken the background the flower look like it was pasted on.

Peter - very nice! This loks like Chinese Witchhazel - also called Loropetalum. Here in Houston it can get absolutely huge, 6-8 feet tall and 6 feet wide. My neighbor, bless him, planted them along the side of his house that borders our driveway. I think I'll have to volunteer to prune them! :)
I like the framing and composition as well. Amy
