About I had spotted a small creek and calculated that the rising sun would fall within its axis. So I went there around 8 in the morning, with my snowshoes. It was -22 C and the running stream was evaporating in the cold and dry air. Unfortunately, though the air was filled by a magnificient golden light, the site was "crowded" with fallen trees and twigs. I could not compose easily and had to concentrate on details. Still not sure here : is the tree too centered ? Maybe, but I guess that the golden reflections in the LR and UL are strong focal points that will tend to add some tension to the picture. What do you think ?

Interesting version Markus. I like the downslope line it introduces.

Excellent suggestion. It makes the image more articulate, as it is simpler. Just to let you know how far this one has comed from, here is a full frame of the original. Now you can see all the manipulation the post went through.

Thank you Elisa. The reflection really caught my attention - it was all around me, in the air.

You work really hard for getting wonderful pictures. It's really excellent and beautiful. Because of the warm colors of the reflections it doesn't feel that cold. Have you tried to mirror the photo. This would maybe reduce the uneasiness with the centered branch.

Regards, Markus

Hi Christian! I don?t mind the pretty centered tree at all as the golden reflections are awesome and the tones in general are so harmonious and exquisite! Outstanding work!!!
