About Here's an altered version of my earlier shot, converted to quadtone in PS7. Similar to what Debarshi Duttagupta did with a similar shot of his. Let me know what you think of this conversion.

Anunay, thanks for your comments. I think what you are noticing is the divergence of the left margin and the column next to it. However, if you look carefully, you will see that the columns on the right also diverge from the right margin. It is actually perspective distortion arising from my having to tilt the camera up slightly. I could have corrected that distortion in Photoshop but I chose to leave the slight distortion in place. To me this recreates the sense I had when I was standing there (with my eye at eye level :-) and feeling overwhelmed by the grand sweep of the structure.

very good perspective. if you dont mind i suggest a very small rotation (about .5 - 1 degree counter clockwise) of this frame.

Not sure when I'll be back in Cleveland, Stephen, but I do still have close friends there and one of these days I'll make the trip. I'll let you know when I do if you email me at amitava@optonline.com

Very nice textures and values here. You can almost reach out and touch the gritty surface. The two people in the bottom work great, helping to monumentalize the columns and the idea.

Impressive. The presence of the figures gives a good sense of proportion.

Lovely composition. I wonder what they are talking about?

The quadtone effect looks very nice and artistic, but besides of that it also alters the impact of the image, in my opinion. In the coloured version my attention is drawn very strongly to the two figures. In the quadtone version, it is the light on the pillars that has become the most important.

Great visual impact and really beautiful point of interest (the men along the collonade).
Well done!!!

Excellent PS effect Amitava.
The tones and the lighting are wonderful and so is the composition of the columns.
The 2 people add a lot to the mood of the photo.
Well done,
Khaled.
