Great shot of a fantastic fruit! I knew about most of the peculiarities of this fruit but did not know that they came in clusters like this. The "fruit" is basically the base of the flower where as in almost all other plants it is the wall of the ovary that becomes the fleshy fruit.
Goa is probably India's largest producer of cashew, right? I know some cashew is grown in coastal Bengal. Anywhere else?
Is the cashew "fruit" ever eaten by itself? Or used to make juice? Probably the best use for it, of course, is the manufacture of feni! I'm with Sudhir on that one!

Great colours and wondeful clarity and sharpness Vinay. Very educational too, I have eaten them many times but never gave a thought to how or where they grew. Good non distracting background too.
