About This photo was taken during a Revolutionary War reenactment at Newtown Battlefield outside Elmira, NY summer 2003. I wasn't extremely happy with the straight photo and started playing with it in PS and it seemed to lend itself well to hand coloring. I'll include the straight scan in the comments. This is my first try at coloring a B&W print so please let me know which version you think works better and why. Any comments or suggestions for improvement are welcome. Thanks

Colin,
Thanks for the comment. The most frustrating thing is trying to draw with a mouse. Someday I should invest in a graphics tablet and pen...

A superb photoart image, Eric.

I like your isolation of the dreaded "redcoats" (our ancestors weren't very sociable in your land then!).

The only error I can see, is a bit of over painting in the central figure's white breeches. But as your first attempt, this is excellent.

For me, the colorful uniforms make the image, the original BW is a bit flat. You should practice more of these.

Thanks for your comment on my latest photoart, Eric
Appreciate it!
