About Taken at a local garden at sunset. Used a 12mm extention tube on a tripod. The sun was coming from behind the poppy and shining right on those little hairs making them "pop" out. I wanted to make the red stand out, so I underexposed it by 1/2 stop to what the camera said was correct. If you look really close, you can see a tiny cobweb going from the bottom of the poppy to the stem. I think I might have caught a "home building" in progress *S*

Beverly, this is a spectacular poppy photo! Love the deep colors and the focus, very sharp! Poppies are my husband's favorite flower, so I'm going to show him this one. Thanks! Amy

Really a very interesting shot, Beverly. I am particularly fond of the backlighting. It creates a dramatic feel and provides a great pallete for the very fine details that you have captured on the stem! The framing is tasteful, and this is an outstanding composition.
