About life can be really cruel to elderly people especially in big faceless cities... walk alone... live alone... die alone... modern economy regards them as "non-productive" members and treats them accordingly... really??? and where were they some years ago??? were they more humans when they belonged to the "productive" category??? try not to forget these lonely souls... do smt for them... Today!

yes my friend...a very good interpretation with just her mouth firmly shut and that "broken" hand... or, maybe just the hand...
in any case, the time spend is deeply appreciated... thank you so much!!! emy

Dera Emily, a very interesting and sad fotoreportage shot. Incredible how the face and and the hand of this melanchonic old woman goes out from the darkness. A strong visual metaphor of human condition.
so i have tried to make a "experiment" with your amazing work. a my personal vision of desperation; broken, mute and invectived by the time. what do you think ?
meanwhile...compliments and regards emy!

You make a great point. In the world today, its easy to feel alone and forgotten, even when surrounded by other people. It's hard to even get a reply to a friendly hello. Too much rushing around, and not enough being done. Well done~

That last flicker of nobility in the low burning flame of human dignity is not unfamiliar. And men have always lived in misfortune and tragedy. But it troubles us now to see these scenes because we?ve made the State our God.........and that God fails us.

The starkness of this image has combed out everything that is not essential to it........you?ve taken out all the adjectives and left only the verbs and nouns. You?re a great picture maker, Emy.

Complimenti Emy!!! :)))

right on m this is all too often the case.in that as sooon as one ceases to be an income generator for the state (taxpayer) the state forgets them

...and her big bags makes me wonder IF she HAS ANY home to go back to....or is she just resting after have shopping food, tired and exhausted? I don?t think so. However homeless or with a home - the lonliness and the feeling of non "membership" of the community/state and to be seen as an only "non-productive" and as one minister in Sweden said in a statement - "a member of the mountin of meat"! Only causing problems for the tax-payers..... Yes you have absolutley right dear Emy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

u r so right emily; this image is very strong presenting a very elegant lady who the system forgot and people used to pass by... her hand says it all; "grace abandoned" I would suggest as a hypertitle. excellent!
