Thanks Antonio. I agree about the cars, an unfortunate fact of life in San Francisco. A bit much to clone out successfully thou. A strong issue here is that St. Brigid's is slated for the wrecking ball unless its defenders can manage to save it. More info at www.st-brigid.org. Mister Ken

thank you for the comments Erik, Romy, Mari, and Marcos. As for the technique: to bring out tonal values I first selected the red channel then placing the original RGB layer on top and merged color. I replicated this layer and merged soft light to get a bit of saturation. The oil paint colors is a fourth layer that is the London House of Parliment by Monet; it was a badly exposed image taken by my daughter. She wanted to discard it, but it was on my camera and I thought it had some excellent color. I find that what appears to be worthless images can sometimes be used this way to obtain nice colors and textural patterns.
