You got a good eye John, on this particular shot I think cropping the horizontal yellow strip may make it more dramatic, more focused. I looked down and saw what Margaret did...

John - this is a really great shot. I love the power of the tree and shadow combined with strong earthy colours. And then that snow. Well you just had to have that as icing on your photo cake. PERFECT!!

truly a sight one would not expect to see, usually snow is seen against blues, greens and grays, this really grabs the eye. Is that really a Josha tree or am I mistaken.
