Neal, my motivation is selfishness. I want to start working on portraits. I know of one subject who is always available when I am. It is more difficult than I thought it would be. Setting up in a location takes time, tripod, energy and considerable thought about what, when and how. Go ahead and post one.

Nice to meet you Luke. I love it when people put up self portraits. I never have the nerve but then, I'm not as good looking either.

Yes, that is me. I thought about re-shooting with your suggested input, but it was time to leave the house. This is first digital SP I have been remotely pleased with. I will try with your suggestion.

Mind, you improved the image greatly. Your creative input always welcome.

Is this you? Good portrait. The only thing I would suggest is not to push your hand to hard on the face, just rest it there, that way it doesn't push the skin out of shape too much.

Thanks Luke for your comment on my image.

Luke, I hope you don't mind that I took the liberty to make a different crop (and add a small black line to it) of your self portrait.
I know it's a matter of taste, but I think the focus should be more to your face. And by cropping it more closely your eyes get more focused on your face. I really admire you for making these self portraits! I stopped doing it years ago!!! :-)
