About Denny mentioned Engines being coupled together for added power. Here is an example. This guy blew through a small town I was in and woke me up ! I was napping in the van . I drove down to the next town and set up to get this shot as it came through. He was traveling at a pretty good rate of speed. the crossing is just in front of him.

Den
as far as focal length, I started at 70 back at the underpass. and zoom down to 18 as it was right next to me, this shot was 18 MM as I looked it up in the file using PS.

Jim my man, thanks sooo much for this dedi again. Super sharp and with a great impression of length of the loco which gives a sense of speed. What focal length did you use.
Fro one reason or another I haven't been at UF for two whole days now ans have 1300 pics to view and I hate to think how many friends images to comment on so excuse me if I miss any.
