Thanks for your comments, Dan. This was available light (and not much of it) because flash is discouraged. ISO 1000 @ 200th and F4.5 because this is widest f stop at 70mm. I intend to try using flash next time and see if I get thrown out :-). You have some very nice action shots in your portfolio. Larry

Nice Shot. I'm assuming you weren't able to use a flash and were set on something like ISO1600? Shutter priority and if so, why not f/3.5? Just curious... Dan

Nikon currently (until 3-31-05) has a $25 rebate on the SB-800. See http://www.adorama.com/NKSB800AFU.html?searchinfo=Nikon%20SB-800%20AF&item_no=7
The 800 is a little more expensive than the 600 but has some extra features!

Thanks Larry

I've been saving up for either a 600 or 800 after recovering from the cost of the D70

I think I prefer this one to the last one, Larry, as you've captured four 'whole' players and a nice bit of action.
Good work!
Kind regards, Chris

Hi Larry. I have a SB-800 which seems to light up the inside of a basketball court really well. This is about the same size so should do A good job. I will try it next time I have a chance and let you know. Larry

I'm wondering how far away you were and if a flash would throw tha far?

Great shot and capture. You've done well with all their eyes on the ball. Excellent photograph.

Thanks Larry. The quality on these is not what I would like. I had to shoot at 1000 ISO and do a lot of post processing :-( I think next time I will use a flash and see if I get thrown out :-)

The eyes are on the ball but the one in the stripped shirt is about to go down by the looks of the legs being tangled. Nice capture. Don.
