Great shot of the clouds reflected off the wet beach. The converging diagonals help to create a strong image. I think the people walking on the right are a nice addition to the image, but they get lost a bit with the clutter of the background. I think if you had moved back and to your right, so that their heads were below the line of the wet sand behind them, then they would stand out and help balance the image with the buildings at the top. And just in case that didn't pan out, I probably would have taken a shot after they had gotten out of the frame to see if that worked better.

Great shot. Conveys mood which is in context with the overcast conditions. The reflection off the wet sand adds the quiet/still stor is coming feeling.

Aloha ... Luther

Lovely reflections off the beach, and well balanced. The clouds also add a dramatic element. A very pleasing composition, Alison.

Hi Alison, this is very nice. I don't mind the red shirt that evryone is commenting on, and i do like the light. But i don't think you have gotten the most out of the image. I say this because i have read your posts on PS and know how keen you are to improve. I feel the difference between the great reflection and the foreboding sky could have been worked on a little more. Hard to describe, and as i'm at work at the moment i can't really help. Maybe i could have a go when i get home to show you what i mean. Don't get me wrong this is good. Just IMHO missing the dot on the "i" t make it great.
Best wishes Neil

I think you have captured the moood well--the calm water in the foreground before the storm takes over. Mary

Alison I think this is stunning the light is wonderful. I think the people add to the composition. You were asking about how to get rid of the red. I did a quick tweak on it by just using the paint brush tool. I think you should have a 'magic wand' as well and you can select the colour/part you want, if it does not pick up all the colour at once, by holding 'capital' you can continue to pick up pixels -[or right click brings up menu for adding or subtracting pixels etc] and then darken/bucket fill whatever you want to do with it. Just brightened a little bit as well to see if it brought out the reflections even more. I really love this it has a really great aura

Good idea Larry let me try with this thorn in my side PS and see what I can do? Nope not winning can anyone tell me the steps plain and simple to recolor his shirt and the reflections shirt? I have PS 7.

I agree with judi, and i think you did lost something after you cropped it... the reflections of those two people somehow makes the image interesting. So maybe if you can only reduce the red tone on her shirt then it would be much better, i think.... Nevertheless... this is a very beautiful composition!

Gorgeous skies and reflections. I find the red shirt very distracting so maybe either clone her out or turn the image to BW. It would be a shame to distract the beautiful composition.
