This is marvellous, apart from the great detail/sharpness the shadows inside and outside the splash, and the tiny droplets are wonderful Margaret

I think what distinguishes these 2 shots from other UF strawberry/milk macros is the capture of highlights/reflection on the fruit. Good job.

The strawberry seems to be nested in the shape of the splash unstead of creating it. Nice visual effect. The quality of the light is perfect. Do you have someone drop the strawberry for you? And how much of a mess do you make? {o:) Your friend, Andree

Thanks Dan. I had googled "stop action photography" and read some about Muybridge's work, but knew that was just the beginning, not so much related to what you were referring too. Really great photo!

Stop action photography is just using the flash to stop all motion, The shuuter speed is not important the flash stops the action , I use a studio strobe light, it flashes a very breaf flash of light 1/5000 to 1/10000 of a second, much faster than a shutter can move.the breaf flash of light only records a breaf moment of time. There is a book called stopping time very interesting photography book, do a search for it you would like it.

This is such a neat photo to view! I'm still learning about digital so please excuse my ignorance, but what is "stop action photography"? Is this a special feature on your camera that enhances the light so the shutter doesn't remain open too long? Curious as to how you achieve an effect like this. Very good! (now don't go looking at the type of camera I'm using - ha! you'd get a good laugh I'm afraid :)
