The dust was a major factor for me, but not the only one!
I've been asked to shoot two weddings, ('officially'), this summer and having had my first D7 go wrong and spend over a month back at Nikon, (it's still there!!), I couldn't take the risk of being left without a camera for those two important assignments. My hobby is paying for itself with the pictures I'm selling so the obvious thing for me to do was to get a back-up body.

Chris, is dust that gets in when you change lenses such a problem? If so, it makes the Latest Olympus E300 8m pixel camera very attractive. It is attractively priced here in Japan, and the lenses for the four-thirds format are significantly smaller and lighter... (For now I sticking with film, though.) Buying a second camera so as not to have to change lenses seems a bit extreme to me, knowing nothing of the problem.

Another good composition with stunning colors.... as to the dust buggies they will still be there because as the lens goes in and out while it focuses it creates a vacuum inside the body and then sucks in dust over a period of time.....I have never taken off my lens and have plenty of dust dots....lol

Not having to remove the lens's does keep the sensor cleaner.

Great shot Chris, beautifull colors what isn't a problem to capture with a cam like that.)) Your work always looks like an invitation to cross the channel and try to capture such beauty as well or at least to see it with own eyes.

Hi Chris,
Well I can't believe you've bought a second D70, thats just outragous ;-) Must admit I'd like a 20D to sit alongside my 10D, maybe someday.
I do like this image, very warm colours as usual. I'd maybe crop just a little off the bottom, iust to lose some of the heavyness. Apart from that it a good piece of work.

The fact is, I was getting an awful lot of dust on my sensor owing to the fact that I changed lenses frequently. On occasions I've had to clone out 50-100 dust spots before I could print or load up a picture. This simply wasn't acceptable!! My solution, (drastic, I admit), was to get another body so that I won't have to keep changing lenses.
Sure, having a number of good lenses is a great thing ~ but, for me, having a camera free of dust was more important. Also, with two weddings booked for the summer, and my old D70 still back at Nikon, I couldn't risk it going wrong again and being left with nothing for the weddings!!

I thought important to have lens of different type more than different bodies for each lens; this can be called effort to make a prosumer from a d70 reflex (not to be offensive, of course, just asking for something not clear)
