stace, nice! "very" nice!! and so original (at least within my very limited experience). i think i'm attracted to it because it has a very typical landscape composition and yet, something's missing. the ground, of course. but is it really missing? the cloud layer provides the foreground usually provided by fields, mountains, lakes, etc. the varying intensity and color of light throughout replace those interesting and unusual bits that make a good landscape photograph.
however, after a while my eye is drawn to an artificial horizon formed by the clouds that splits the image in half. even though it works fine here, lowering this horizon would make the image a bit stronger. excellent work!
