Used to live in Jarrow. Often walked across this bridge to Gateshead! Brings back memories... Can't think why the lamppost and backdrop of the city should look unreal compared with the gritty sharpness of the bridge itself. Perhaps you fuzzed them digitally?

Danny ,whats the crack regarding the light.Have you altered it in some way ,you can see evedence of sorts.I like the image very much (but it is a wee bit soft.(just like you)
