This is what you could do to this shot in the computer (see below). But Amanda is right about future portrait work. Fill flash, wide aperture, and vertical composition. Just fun to try....Cheers, Andree

do you mind if I help you out a little here? This is a classic example of where fill flash or a reflector is needed, her face needs to be brighter and the flash would even the difference in exposure from the fore to the background. This young lady's smile is gorgeous though and you've caught that well. IMHO, a closer crop in vertical format would help to be rid of some of the distractions in the background, particularly the red and the bright spots...they really draw your eye. Also I feel the colour is off. Asian skin tone is more yellow/green than magenta - your white balance on the camera has been a bit off here. Please take this as its meant - I sincerley hope that this helps somewhat, you have captured and recognised a lovely moment but just need a few pointers on some technicalities. Cheers and keep on shooting :-)
