I love both hats and isn't it a wonderful thought your father wore it for many years? It's a precious memory. We had an old (in age) friend coming in every week to help us rebuild this place. He always wore a velvet hat and one day he just forgot to take it home. Shortly after he got sick and died and I keep that hat as a memorial to a true and helpful friend.

What a great memento you have there, Del. I like the original much better. I think if you give it just a touch of + contrast and then frame with same lighter green frame you'd have a very pleasing presentation of your keepsake.

Gabrielle, Well it is really deep green, a very common color worn by the local men in 1952, usually with leather pants. The outfits looked a lot like you see in paintings depicting Swiss mountain men. I added some contrast and it did give a brighter green especially to the head band. I was trying to enhance the detail of the feather. Here is the orginal untouched photo. Del
