About
Here is a facade of a building....on the first floor there is a pub. Pretty cool idea. This is on Biehl Street in Memphis. It's a great city, a little rough in spots but great music and nightlife. I'll be back.
Yes, with a dedicated film scanner, all you need to do is develop the film within the ballpark so to speak, and you can tweak it in PS. I've mixed films in the same soup. It'll get to the point where it becomes second nature as to how long to dunk it and feeling the temp just by touch.
It's definately thick, I overdevelope everything.... I think it will print better than it scans. I need to get a dedicated film scanner one of these days, the epson works pretty well, but it seems to struggle with density. My camera isn't rating it. I don't let it do that. I set the iso. I devloped the arista for 8 min in stock d76. I developed three different types of film at the saem time, for the same time... I'm getting lazy. It doesn't bother me, I know I can get a good print off of it in the dark room.
Yeah, I think your camera is rating it at 200asa. But look at the neg...too thick or too thin, or just right in the middle. This is good film, and bulk is the way to go.
Well, I did use a yellow filter.... and I shot it at 400... I have never rated film. That's beyond me. So maybe it's wise to shoot it a speed lower and get better contrast? I just use it because I bulk loaded a a whole roll of it a while back.
Now that's progress! I like to see restoration, preservation, conservation....dadadada. Dada. From my point of view it's upbeat, optimistic. I think you could have used a yellow or orange filter to darken the sky and bring the clouds out. To me, there's a little too much up top --I'd crop it to make it a square format. I'd have shot a couple rolls just on this thing. Fascinating. At what speed to you rate this Arista 400 film? A while back (late '80s) I did some densitometry tests on it, and it was consistently at 200asa.
