Thanks markus. I took a lot of photos of these bees, and fortunately a few came out well. You really need to be fast at focussing (definately have to use manual focussing, and a flash with small apperture - F/16) to catch the bee before it flies away. One also gets a lot of reject photos - and one needs many sunny mornings/afternoons with them and lots of luck before one really catches them well. Unfortunately everyone tries to photograph bees (and dragonflies ;-)), so they don't get much attention on the web...

Phantastic macro, Bryan. One can count each hair of the bee, and the details, but also the whole composition are excellent. I'm amazed how you are able to keep the insects still during shooting.
