Hi Ken - I like the idea, but I would like to see the top of his hand too - have you tried doing it the other way round - focusing on the eye and leaving the hand blurry?
Or what about an off-centre composition - you could have Adam on the left of the frame - and just wall to the right - I think that would look pretty neat too!
I like your portfolio - especially the picture of your dad!
