I do love your natural self-portrait very much, you have a preety face and strong eyes and you wanted them to be intense :) !!! Good pose and mouth expression goes well with whole exspression on your preety face !!!

Wonderful self portrait! Maybe the best I've seen in fact. Love all warm colors to this. & Yes there is an intensity to this but it is what makes this so appealing. Well done!

Good point, Stefan. I had trouble putting a frame with this because of my lip. The black stood out too bold, the burnt orange kind of helped, but I know what you are saying. I was holding the camera out with my hands, so I really couldn't gauge the composition too well. Thanks for your comments!

I like it and part of the appeal are the many brown-red tones in the photo. My nit is with the composition in that the lower lip touches the frame...

Actually, I think the intensity in the eyes is what makes the portrait unique. Both versions are nice, though. -- Kind regards, Rafael

whoops - dh is husband, sorry. He also didn't like the lighting and said the flash was too bright and that my skin doesn't look like that. I didn't use a flash though, it's post editing lightening. I actually liked the warm colors - oranges, greens, I thought it made it look more natural, but he just laughed when I said this - oh well :)

yeah, it's a self-portrait. But when my dh saw it he said it doesn't look anything like me. Maybe it's that intense look - lol- I'm usually smiling.

this is a nice portrait. I did think intense but that is not bad. I like the close crop and the eyes are photographed well. GOod photo. IS this a self Portrait?

In the thumbnail I think I look too intense. Regular size, I think my expression looks more relaxed. I was going for a natural look here, but since I'm not a fan of the freckles ;) I did one softened too:
