can you think about that an animal like this can live in your home, ? it is terrified. the picture is spectacular, but I don't like to see it to much time. by the way was it alive? congratulations,

Wow, you goes deep down in macro world. I also use reversed 50mm Zenit lens. It's very difficult, the DOF is tiny like sheet of paper.

Dan, I can honestly say that I?m speechless. I would love to have the equipment to capture such a incredible macro. Did you have this little guy in the freezer for a while to slow him down? I heard that helps with photographing shots like this. Very nice work

Dan! First of all I would like to say what an amazing micro macro image this is!!! The details are just fantabulous!!!! OK now for this mirror lock up thing, I want to know more about it, I know my camera has this feature... Did you tripod this or is it hand held? The mirror lock up... when you lock the mirror the shutter still opens and closes? How does the mirror lock up affect your shooting? I am sorry for so many questions, but I was playing with the mirror lock up a little and wondered exactly what I could achieve using it. :)

I don't know how you use a 135mm with a reversed 50mm but I do know that this quality is awesome. Lee

The glimmer could be coming from the fly's own body. Like a shiny aurora borealis finish. Great capture of a prickly fella.

Hugo, I think the glimmering stuff was pollen , I took this in bright sunshine and could only see the iredecent colors through the lens ,my eyes are not good enough to see without the magnification. Dan

Amazing details, Dan, but what are those hairs and glimmers, they look very gruesome. That doesn't change the quality of this shot, though. Very well captured.
Cheers,
Hugo
