there is a sense of the building compressing into itself. for me they even went to the point of making the gutters on the top symmetrical. the cotton sign then underneath freemasons hall, has an ironic feel.

Well, Cheri, it is a very photogenic town about two hours from v-e-r-y photogenic Charleston, where I now live. ;-) There is a great deal of nice architecture in Savannah, the result of a now famous restoration initiative years ago. You also will want to visit the Bonaventure Cemetery--quite beautiful and nostalgic. The "Bird Girl" is only a small part of its appeal. Of course, you must read--or re-read--SAVANNAH SMILES. When you get down this way, you must visit Charleston, brimming with cool architecture, natural charm and terrfic bird-life. --And that's my Chamber of Commerce staement for today. --George

These old building can have more character than the concrete and glass that we have today, brick is best I think. I see where your shadow came from now.
