Hi Jim,
This is a 7+ shot.
Great colors, details and dof.
Even with the lower part of her wings missing, still very pretty. I wish you luck identifying this butterfly.

Hi Ilker.... actually I captured this photo in the Phuket Butterfly Garden and Insectarium. A bit easier than doing it out in nature, altho I've managed to get a few decent shots of butterflies in nature as well. Some butterflies are good enough to stop fluttering around, and some are not. I only saw this butterfly for 10 seconds during the hour I was in the butterfly garden. It just disappeared...

Hi Len, thanks for your kind words. Even tho taking pictures of butterflies isn't easy (at least not for me), and while I think this photo is good, I dont think its great. But I've always been very self-critical in most things I do in life.

How did you catch this butterfly unless it has escaped? Was it dead? Nice photo, light, colors.
