Alison I love this very intimate portrait/landscape...Your rendering is very impressive...It gives it a more serious feeling, IMHO....I'm liking the black and white here, I think it's much more effective in focusing the attention on your subject. The trees overhead offer shelter and interest.....very lovely image wonderfully presented....:) Linda

Beautiful texture treatment, Alison. This would make a lovely card, IMHO. Perhaps a Valentine's day card, as it shows a nice moment of friendship and affection in a beautiful setting.

This turned out really nicely in black and white, and with the texture you applied! I love the 'lithograph' effect of the limited tones as well as the natural frame created by the trees and fence that surround them. Really good one!
