Hey John. ? Flowers, sunsets? millions are produced everyday and one becomes indifferent for the most part. But honestly? Your ring of fire is a real beauty - a lovely and oh so pretty flower shot! An artistic picture, in everyway successful! The blue sky with a wisp of cloud seals it for me. HONESTLY!

hi,John...i looked at both and i like this one better because of the angle and more blue sky..the orange against the blue is a winning combo!..the petals look like nature's angel wings ;> ..lovely and cheerful image!..regards,gayle

Lovely composition, John. The colours of the flower against the sky makes a different and effective picture. Mary Osgoode is just outside Ottawa, Canada's capital. I guess, since amalgimation, we are technically part of Ottawa. However, we still don't think that way. We are in the country. -

This was an interesting way you composed this one,I like how the petals seem to be opening outstretched towards the clear blue sky. Now you asked for honesty, so looking at it,it possibly could have contrast boosted up a click. (by the way John,I will be getting a letter off to you still, haven't forgotten, just need a swift kick in the bu..!:)

John I really like this composition, the way the petal flare out and the sky behind it is almost like a butterfly. Great detail and colour in the centre Margaret

Very nice floral John. I really like your use of colour and also the composition. With a bit mor sharpness in the foreground and the centre of the flower this could be an outstanding image. Kind regards. Joggie

Yeah, i compared it to the other one, and i feel this one has more tension.. the opening to the sky is wider, so expressing the flower is more oriented to that instead of to you .. the DOF makes it more interesting too .. definitely the way i would do it too ! Peter

The composition is very exciting, especially that bright blue background. Since you mentioned it, the focus is a little problematic. Gnerally we look at the center of he flower in such a presentation. I very much like this picture, but I can't help wishing the center of the bloom was a bit sharper. ;~) Best regards, --George
