This area had recently been remodeled. The area is closed to vehicles, and is a popular area for locals to congregate. When I visited, these 3 guys were standing to one side, looking at something and comparing it to what they saw on the street. I asked my friend to interpret for me, and I asked if I could see what they were looking at. The guy holding the postcards had bought them in 1938. They were comparing the street as it was in the postcards with the remodeled street. Identifiable in the postcards were the theater (to the left of the men) and the church spire in the background.
It was a winter day, and cloudy/bright. The sky was very thin in my original slides. I scanned the slides, and tweaked the sky in PS. Unfortunately, the low sun was reflecting off the buildings on the left.
