Manu, the greens look quite realistic, sort of bluish, but that's the type of grass. The sky is perhaps 3 to 5% on the green side (from my monitor). Minor, but what's readily apparent is the noise in all the blues. Lots of tweaking in that Nikon, but once you have it set up right, it's a real killer combo.

Manu, That's great news. Once you get it figured out, you'll be able to soar to new heights. I'm not sure of the dials on the D-70, but on the D-100 I never use the 'sunlight' setting. When shooting outdoors, I use either 'shade' or 'cloudy'. Things brings much more inherent warmth to the scene. Cheers, E

Manu, congrats on the new camera, I, too, just bought the same little monster and am still trying to figure it out, but then again I'm not that bright. I have opted to leave most things in auto with the exception of the automatic exposure compensation. Instead I have been using the combo RAW n JPEG mode (so I can compare direct results) and then, I work the details in PS. The RAW mode is winning as I have more control over the post-prodc. Regarding exposure comp, I took a series of outdoor and indoor shots and most of them were either a bit over or under exposed. I took the same shots at the same time using the same settings in my F100 with Fuji reala 100 film to compare. Now, I manually compensate by 1/3 fstop as with my last series, although in some cases I compensated up to 1 full stop. These are my findings with my VERY VERY LIMITED experience with the D70. I hope they are of some help to you. But as you wisely point out, composition and creativity still have to rule over technology... Kind Regards, Rafael

Hey, Marco....you have absolutley nothing to worry about. First is the vision of the image and its creativity..then you look at the tools you need for the job.
I need to play around with the "tools" so that they become natural. I know you understand and please keep commenting and if you think I am falling into the "whirlpool" please tell me!
Cheers my friend.

..best wishes for your new little beast !:)
the image seems ok (i suppose taken with your extreme 18mm becamed a 27mm aprox)In order to give you my advice could uyo say if you have postprocessed the image with PS or it is "nature" ?
PS: please manu, don't fall in the deep whirpool of digital technicism...let me think that you'll put always in the first line your artistic vision..:-) regards, Marco
