I love the complimentary orange and violet colors - and it's lovely with her skin tone and the glitter look she has. I think the orchids are so bright on the top left that they lack some depth and maybe that's why they are distracting? Just too bright and almost one-dimensional. One thing you might try would be to add a soft focus. Then paste that layer on top of this original. Then "erase" her eyes and lips so the crisp version underneath comes through and you have details where it counts, but softness everywhere else. She's such a lovely girl - the photo has a pretty, tropical feel with the colors and orchids!

Beautiful niece, I like how the plain white background draws attention to your niece. The orchid is distracting in the foreground. It would have been perfect in the background. Great shot though!

Manuel, Thank you for the wonderful complement on my niece and the picture. I will try out your suggestion once I get a better hold on the digital format.
Thanks again Monique

OK first things first. Congrats for such a beautiful niece! she's grown up to be a real hearbreaker. As to the picture, i can only say; great colors, sharpness, and compositon. i just wish you had made a frame or added some kind of border to it!! but that's only my opinion.
Regards
Manuel

Thank you both for you comment. Although I like the orchid. I understand your comment on it possibly detracting from the subject. Thanks again

Nice portrait. The violet orchid there is really distracted. It competes with the main subject
